Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account, such as your name, email address, phone number, and shipping address. We also collect usage data to improve our services, including device information and browsing activity on our platform.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to process orders, provide customer support, improve our platform, and communicate with you about your account and transactions. We may also use aggregated data to analyze trends and enhance the user experience.

Information Sharing

We share your information with sellers to fulfill your orders and with service providers who help us operate the platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Automated listing checks

To prevent fraud, especially requests to pay outside the platform before delivery, and prohibited items, we may use an automated classification service: Jev by TypeSafe AI (United States), through the Vercel AI Gateway. This check is not active yet and will not start before 1 November 2026. When a listing is published or its text changes, the service receives its title and description, after phone numbers, email addresses, links, messenger handles, IBANs, crypto addresses, ID and NIPT numbers, licence plates and vehicle identification numbers have been replaced with placeholders (the replacement does not remove personal names or addresses typed freely into the text), together with descriptive details such as price, condition, category, city, seller type and number of photos. This check never sends photos, or the seller's name, email, phone number, address, verification documents or account identifiers; job-seeker listings and drafts are not sent. On every request we ask that the data not be kept after answering and not be used to train models. The answer only places the listing in a queue for review by an Alemiin moderator: nothing is decided automatically, no listing is hidden, removed or changed by it, and nothing is shown to the seller. We keep only a result code and the listing's internal identifier, never the text. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing fraud; you can object by contacting us. The transfer to the United States takes place under the data processing agreements of Vercel and TypeSafe AI, which include the Standard Contractual Clauses.

Filling in listings from photos (in testing)

When a seller presses “Fill in from photos” while creating or editing a listing, we send up to 4 of the photos they uploaded for it (resized, with EXIF data such as location removed) and the short note they may type to Anthropic's Claude model (United States), through the Vercel AI Gateway, to suggest a title, a description and categories. If they then ask for the product details, only the draft's text, what was seen in the photos and the note are sent, without photos. We do not send the seller's name, email, phone number, address or account identifiers. On every request we ask that the data not be kept after answering and not be used to train models. The suggestions only fill in the form: nothing is published or saved until the seller saves the listing, and they can change or delete anything. We do not keep the copies sent or the model's answers; we keep only a monthly count of uses per account, for the plan's limit, and technical logs without content (duration, token counts). The feature is in testing and can make mistakes. The legal basis is providing the service the seller asks for when pressing the button (they can always fill in the listing themselves). The transfer to the United States takes place under the data processing agreements of Vercel and Anthropic, which include the Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. To protect accounts from unauthorised access, we record every sign-in, failed sign-in, sign-out and password change or reset with the full IP address, browser and device, time and outcome; for a failed sign-in we also keep the e-mail address that was typed. Only administrators can see these records, they are used only for account security (our legitimate interest), and they are deleted after 90 days. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and improve your browsing experience. You can control cookie settings through your browser, though some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings. You may also request a copy of your data or ask us to restrict its processing by contacting our support team.

Children's Privacy

Alemiin is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on our platform and updating the date above.
