iPhone 16 in Albania: what to compare before you buy

Guidance from AlemiinUpdated:

Several different models are sold under the name «iPhone 16», and each comes with several storage capacities. Two listings with the same title can therefore describe phones that are not comparable. This guide helps you make sure you are comparing the same phone, in the same condition and on the same terms, before you look at the price.

Find the exact model in the series

The series includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16e. They are not the same phone and do not cost the same, so compare only offers for the same model. If a listing just says «iPhone 16», ask the seller which model it is.

  • The model name appears under Settings > General > About; ask the seller for a photograph of that screen.
  • Apple explains how to tell the model from its model number as well.

Compare the same storage

Storage capacity changes the price of the same model. An offer for an iPhone 16 with 128 GB is not comparable with one for 256 GB. Decide first how much storage you need, then compare only offers with that capacity.

An iPhone's storage cannot be expanded later, so think about the photos, videos and apps you keep on your phone.

New, used or refurbished

Write down the exact condition of each offer. A new, a used and a refurbished phone are not worth the same, even when the model and storage are identical.

  • New: ask whether the box is unopened and whether the phone has never been activated.
  • Used: ask for photographs of the actual device, its known faults and what is included in the price.
  • Refurbished: ask who refurbished the phone, which parts were replaced and what warranty comes with it, because the word does not mean the same thing at every seller.

The warranty: who gives it and what it covers

Ask whether the shop or the manufacturer provides the warranty, how long it lasts, what it covers and where the phone is repaired if something goes wrong. Ask for the terms in writing, on the invoice or on the warranty card.

From the serial number, Apple's coverage page shows whether the device still has Apple's limited warranty or AppleCare. The shop's warranty is something else and should be clarified separately.

Know the shop before you pay

Look at the shop's name, its city and how you can contact it. On Alemiin, the «Verified seller» badge shows that the shop has provided its NIPT (Albanian tax number) and an identity document that has been verified. When the badge is missing, ask who issues the invoice and how a problem after the purchase is resolved.

Account for delivery and the returns terms

The price of the phone is not always the final cost. Ask what delivery to your city costs, when the phone arrives and whether you can check it when you receive it.

  • Can I return the phone, and within how many days?
  • Do you accept a return once the box has been opened?
  • Who pays for the return shipping?
  • How will my money be refunded, and how soon?

Compare the same model across several shops

Alemiin's «Krahaso» (compare) pages bring together on one page the offers for the same product from several shops, cheapest first, with the date the prices were checked. Some offers come from shops outside Alemiin, and you buy from the seller directly. Open the offer you like and check the model, storage, condition and warranty.

If you buy it used, check Activation Lock

Apple advises against buying a used iPhone with Activation Lock enabled. The seller should remove the phone from their account before handover, not later. Where the device supports it, also check its parts and service history using Apple's instructions.
