iPhone 17 Pro Max in Albania: how to compare the price before you buy

Guidance from AlemiinUpdated:

Two offers for an iPhone 17 Pro Max can look the same and still not be comparable: one may have less storage, the other may be used or come without a warranty. Before you look at which price is lower, make sure you are comparing the same thing. This guide shows which details to collect for each offer and what to ask the shop before paying.

Compare the same model and the same storage

The name «iPhone 17 Pro Max» is not enough. The same model is sold with several storage capacities, and the price changes with them. Compare only offers with the same capacity.

  • Ask for the full model and storage, for example «iPhone 17 Pro Max 256 GB», not just «iPhone 17».
  • Do not confuse it with the iPhone 17 Pro or the iPhone 17: the names are similar, but they are different models.
  • If you are unsure which model a device is, Apple explains how to tell from its model number.

New, used or refurbished

A cheaper offer often has a reason. Write down the exact condition of each offer and compare only offers in the same condition.

  • New: ask whether the box is unopened and whether the phone has never been activated.
  • Used: ask for photographs of the actual device, its known faults and what is included in the price.
  • Refurbished: the word does not mean the same thing at every seller. Ask who refurbished the phone, which parts were replaced and what warranty comes with it.

The warranty: who gives it and how long it lasts

A warranty is only worth something if you know who stands behind it. Ask whether the shop itself or the manufacturer provides it, how long it lasts, what it covers and where you would take the phone if something goes wrong. Ask for the terms in writing, on the invoice or on the warranty card.

With the serial number, Apple's coverage page shows whether the device still has Apple's limited warranty or AppleCare. This does not replace the shop's warranty: they are two different things.

Know the shop before you pay

The lowest price does not help if you do not know who is selling the phone. Look at the shop's name, its city and how you can contact it. On Alemiin, the «Verified seller» badge shows that the shop has provided its NIPT (Albanian tax number) and an identity document that has been verified.

If a shop does not have the badge, that does not make the offer a bad one, but ask more questions: who issues the invoice, where the shop is and how a problem after the purchase is resolved.

Delivery and returns are part of the offer

Compare the final cost, not just the price of the phone. Ask what delivery to your city costs, when it is expected to arrive and whether you can check the phone when you receive it.

  • Can I return the phone, and within how many days?
  • Do you accept a return once the box has been opened?
  • Who pays for the return shipping?
  • How will my money be refunded, and how soon?

Compare the same model across several shops

Alemiin's «Krahaso» (compare) pages bring together on one page the offers for the same product from several shops, cheapest first, with the date the prices were checked. Some offers come from shops outside Alemiin, and you buy from the seller directly. Before you decide, open the offer and check the storage, condition and warranty against the points above.

If you buy it used, check Activation Lock

Apple advises against buying a used iPhone with Activation Lock enabled. The seller should remove the phone from their account before handover; do not accept a promise to do it later. Where the device supports it, also check its parts and service history using Apple's instructions.
